Gateway of India :
The foundation stone for Gateway of India was laid on 31st March 1911 and the construction was completed in 1924. It is an arc monument which was built to honor the landing of King George V and Queen Mary on their visit to India in 1911. The Gateway faces out to Mumbai Harbour from the tip of Apollo Bunder. It is a symbolic monument which represents the Mumbai city and in earlier times it was the first structure to be seen by the visitors arriving by boat. It served to allow entry and access to India.
Kanheri Caves :
Situated in the forest of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, located in the western outskirts of Mumbai, Kanheri caves are known as the Lungs of Mumbai city because of the greenery and fresh air. Kanheri caves are a group of caves and rock cut monuments which way backs to the 1st century BC and are the oldest caves of the country. The caves contain Buddhist sculptures, paintings, carvings and inscriptions. The caves offer a lot to see and learn about Buddhism. Elephanta Caves :
Located in the Elephanta island in Mumbai harbour the caves are placed between 5th and 7th centuries. Elephanta caves is the UNESCO world heritage site and is known for cave temples which is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. The caves contains rock cut stone sculptures with carvings narrating Hindu mythologies. The Elephanta caves is connected by ferry services to Gateway of India, Mumbai between 9am to 2pm daily except on Monday when the caves are closed.
Marine Drive :
The Marine Drive is 3.6km long arc shaped road along the coast, which is a natural bay starting from the southern end of the Nariman point and ending at the famous Chowpatty Beach. It is also referred as the Queen’s Necklace because if viewed at night from an elevated point the street light resembles like string of pearls around necklace. You can have a spectacular view of the sunset by walking around. At night the sound of the waves, starry sky and view of Mumbai skyline make it a perfect romantic spot to watch out for.
Juhu Beach :
